A new juice bar opened at Arcadia Towne Center (4730 E. Indian School Road) in June. Pure Green offers cold-pressed juices, juice shots, superfood smoothies, acai, pitaya, oatmeal bowls and breakfast toasts. They also offer catering and delivery options.

The Arcadia and Tempe Madison Improvement Clubs have closed. The indoor cycling studio, with classes known as “party on a bike,” will still operate out of its Scottsdale location, at 9719 N. Hayden Road.

Teri Friedland, a certified pilates teacher and the owner of Pink Ribbon 360, opened a new studio called Pilates Arcadia near 40th St. and Camelback Road (4024 E. Coolidge St.). Classes will help attendees feel more flexible and toned through a series of mat and apparatus exercises. Friedland is offering a New Client Special: four sessions for $260. There is also a five-session package for $400 or 10-session package for $750.

Desert Financial Credit Union is asking K-12 teachers to apply for its 4th annual Adopt-A-TeacherProgram. Desert Financial will award seven teachers with $3,000 each for classroom supplies between September and November 2023. Applications will be accepted between August 11-25. Seven winners will be selected and notified by September 1. Previous winners used funds to take class field trips, restock supplies, and purchase equipment for class projects.

United Food Bank, in partnership with 12News, announced its sixth annual Summer of a Million Meals fundraiser campaign to assist families in need by raising funds for a million meals. The campaign will run through September 4. My Math Experts is an online, one-on-one math tutoring program offering summer courses until August 11. Each student has a customized learning plan. Tutors instruct and check problems with the student, and at the end of summer, a post-assessment to gauge progress is administered. Scottsdale Public Art’s newest exhibition features images produced by participants in the Kids in Focus after-school program. The program’s nine-week courses for 10- to 14-year-olds who have experienced poverty, homelessness, neglect, or abuse provide participants with a new perspective on themselves and the world around them. An immersive, pop-up concept bar called The Alice is opening on W. Adams St. in downtown Phoenix on August 10. This Alice in Wonderland-themed adventure allows guests to join an interactive tea party, discover hidden messages, play chess and croquet, and join the White Queen’s exclusive party – complete with drinks and a sweet treat.
